Drought Community Outreach events are coming to Eyre Peninsula towns this month.
The Drought Community Outreach Program, in partnership with Rotary, is bringing services specific to farmers and their communities to the region for a drop-in, one-stop-shop event.
The program will be at the Franklin Harbour Institute in Cowell on Monday, February 22, followed by a visit to the Cleve Sporting Bodies Club on Tuesday, February 23, the Elliston Hall on Wednesday, February 24, the Wudinna Memorial Hall on Thursday, February 25 and the Kimba Institute on Friday, February 26.
All events will run from 4pm to 8pm and will include a free barbecue.
They will include government and non-government agencies who can make it easier for farmers and other community members in rural and regional communities living through the immediate and longer-term effects of drought to access support and information.
Those present will get information and advice on low-interest loans, the Farm Household Allowance, On-Farm Emergency Water Infrastructure Rebate Scheme, $3000 Drought Community Support Initiative, and Rotary $500 household vouchers, among other information.
Joining the agencies on the Eyre Peninsula events will be Mary O'Brien from 'Are You Bogged Mate?' as the guest speaker.
