International award-winning theatre production Eurydice is coming to Streaky Bay this month.

The show, presented by Country Arts SA, comes from the Flanagan Collective and Gobbledigook Threatre, which rewrote Orpheus and the Underworld.

The two tales - Orpheus and Eurydice - are performances that are a retelling of an ancient myth and can be told together or apart, are stories of falling in love, losing everything and putting yourself back together.

Eurydice is the story about making changes, taking leaps and being a daily superhero told through narrative poetry and live electronica.

Leni is five-years-old, holding a Superman costume for her first day at school, while Eurydice is five years into the rest of her life, with a bee tattoo on her wrist.

The show has played across a number of spaces, from pubs to halls and gardens, as part of festivals and in threatres, and is now coming to the Streaky Bay jetty foreshore.

"Eurydice will be performed on the beautiful Streaky Bay jetty foreshore - it's theatre, but not what you'd expect and what a gorgeous setting," Streaky Bay Presenter Group committee member Tracy McEvoy said.

"Make the most of this innovative and enjoyable performance, and the great outdoors."

The companies premiered Eurydice, a sister show to Orpheus, at the 2019 Adelaide Fringe for 12 performances where it won best threatre overall award at the festival.

It will be performed under the stars in Streaky Bay for one night only and stars Yoshika Colwell and Jamie MacDowell.

The show will take place on Tuesday, March 17 at 8pm.

Tickets are available from the Streaky Bay Visitor Information Centre (8626 7033), with adult tickets costing $27, groups of six or more at $24 per person and under 17s at $10.

Attendees are asked to bring their own picnic rug, while there will be a bar operating.
