The West Coast Motorcycle Club hosted the first round of the Eyre Peninsula motocross series at Ceduna last weekend. Riders from Ceduna were among the 52 competitors in total across a number of divisions and were joined by others from Eyre Peninsula and as far away as Roxby Downs and Adelaide. The club's Kelli Hoffrichter said it proved to be a fantastic day of racing action, with some very good battles and races. "All riders showed great competition and sportsmanship," she said. The annual feature race for juniors and seniors proved very popular once again, with most riders participating. Finishing in the top three for the juniors were Chad Sparrow, Banjo Patterson and Jack Lienert, while in the seniors it was Seigah Ward, Zac Hoffrichter and Harley Bodger. The series is in its 14th year, with the motto for 2020 being 'country racing, where champions are made'. Ceduna hosted the first of four rounds, with subsequent rounds to take place at Whyalla, Port Lincoln and Kimba.
