Thevenard secures 109-run success

Thevenard enjoyed a commanding win by 109 runs against Smoky Bay in round 11 of the Far West cricket season at Smoky Bay on Saturday.
A big partnership between Lachlan Wilkins and Josh Threadgold helped the visitors to 3/213, with Smoky reaching 9/104 in response.
Thevenard lost Jarrad Trowbridge for only two runs, but fellow opener Jesse Chandler, 24, helped take the score past 50.
Wilkins and Trowbridge came together with the score at 2/51 and put on a match-winning partnership of 135 runs.
The pair found the gaps and the boundary with ease until Wilkins was removed for 72.
Threadgold continued the charge until the final ball as he finished on an unbeaten 85, while Jacob Grills added 10 not out.
Liam Pope took 2/38, while Toby Lee added 1/22.
Smoky Bay had a rocky start with the wickets of Chris Williams, Riley Prince and Waylon Drew reducing the hosts to 3/31.
Pope combined with Leon Wright to give Smoky some stability, until he was bowled for 31.
Wright continued his one-man resistance as he progressed to 40 not out, but he found partners hard to come by as the hosts lost their last five wickets for only 16 runs, while Peter Collins retired hurt.
Jonty Woods, Wilkins, Threadgold and Chandler all picked up two wickets.
Meanwhile, Ceduna defeated Streaky Bay via a forfeit.
