Appeal for witnesses after child falls from car

Police are appealing for witnesses after a child fell out of a car on Eyre Highway at Ceduna last month.

At 12.15pm on Saturday, December 28 police were called after a witness reported seeing a two-year-old child fall out of a moving vehicle and on to the highway.

Police will allege the 24-year-old driver was performing a U-turn on the highway in front of the Ceduna Airport Caravan Park when the child and the child restraint fell out of the vehicle and on to the road.

The boy was taken by ambulance to Ceduna Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.

The female driver was arrested and charged with aggravated causing harm by use of a motor vehicle and driving unlicensed.

She was granted bail to appear in the Ceduna Magistrates Court next month.

Investigations are continuing and police want to hear from anyone who saw the incident or has any dashcam footage.

They are asked to contact the Ceduna Police Station on 8626 2020 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
