Santa Claus is coming to Streaky Bay for the Santa Street Party

Santa Claus is coming to Streaky Bay

December will once again be a busy time in Streaky Bay with both the Santa Street Party and New Year's Eve Family Festival taking place.

The Santa Street Party will be held on Thursday, December 19 in the main shopping street, Bay Road which will be closed off to vehicle traffic.

In the past, a Christmas parade has occurred but this year it has been decided to have a street party instead to allow more local businesses to be involved and provide an extended event for the local community and visitors.

The street party will run from 5.30-8.30pm and include late-night trading for existing shops, live music, food and shop stalls and most importantly the chance to let Santa know your Christmas wish list.

Samantha Kirby, one of the new owners of the Streaky Bay Newsagency, is thrilled to be involved with this new format event.

"It is exciting to be involved in supporting this event by being the collection point for all wrapped presents, especially now that the event has expanded to include so many of the local businesses," she said.

The sponsors for this event are Streaky Bay Surf & Style, Streaky Bay Newsagency and the District Council of Streaky Bay.
