Mullet and mo shaved for charity

Ceduna Area School deputy principal Mark Prince said goodbye to his mullet and moustache this week to raise money as part of Movember.

Mr Prince had been growing his mullet since February and added a moustache this month, but gave both the chop at a school assembly on Wednesday.

Hairdresser Shelley Williams had the honour of executing the shave.

Mr Prince said it was a good opportunity to raise money for the Movember Foundation.

"A number of male staff members get involved with Movember and have done so for the past 10 to 15 years," he said.

"It is a chance to raise the profile and be a good role model for the students about getting into a good cause.

"It is also about having fun."

Mr Prince said he raised $350 throughout the month.

He said while many were happy to see the mullet go after almost a year, he also had an offer to double what was raised if he kept it.

"It was a tempting offer," he said.
