Oysters were not the only thing on the menu over the weekend in Ceduna as bowls action was front and centre at the Ceduna and Districts Bowling Club for the Oysterfest Classic.
The annual event saw 20 teams compete in this year's tournament, with teams from Ceduna joined by others from Kirton Point, Minnipa, Wirrabara, Port Augusta, Streaky Bay, Port Lincoln, Tumby Bay, Modbury, Moonta, Wallaroo and Wudinna for the event sponsored by the Ceduna Foreshore Hotel Motel.
Winning all their games to take the victory were Rhys Taylor, Matt Nicholls, Daniel Nicholls and Juan Vargas on 220 points.
All four members of the team started their bowling careers in Ceduna, but now live in Adelaide and Streaky Bay.
They finished ahead of Moonta quartet Bob Cavanagh, Bob Bradley, Paul Ausborn and Steve Eichenberger on 171 points, with Wallaroo's Phil Spiers, Don Bennett, Steve Jolly and Bob Scott third on 170.5 points.
Finishing in fourth position on 155.5 points were Graham Schaedel, Kym Wakefield, Ron Waller and Bob Milic from Port Lincoln.
The first day's winners were Cyril Hier, John Rau, Mick Evans and Wayne Branson from Tumby Bay and Ceduna, with Ceduna quartet Ross Borlase, Richard Culjack, Peter Meyer and Graham Seigert the second day's winners.
