Lachlan Redden carded the best score in the A grade as 14 players fronted up for the third round of the Streaky Bay Men's Golf Championships on Sunday.
Many in the community the previous evening had celebrated the grand final successes of the West Coast Hawks in the football and netball and teed off in cool and blustery conditions that intensified throughout the afternoon.
Redden hit a 73, net 70 and 38 points, to take a firm grip of this year's title.
John Flaherty carded an impressive 85, net 69 and 40 points to win the day and impress himself on the B grade title.
Graham Redding scoring 90, net 69 and 38 points, Ty Redden on 87, net 72 and 36 points, plus Dion Gilmore on 92, net 72 and 36 points, also had good days and could figure in the final count.
The Streaky Bay Junior Golf Open will be held at the club this Saturday from 9am, with trophy presentations and a sausage sizzle to follow the 18-hole competition.
This is the first time the open has been held in the past seven years, with the junior program returning from a hiatus.
It is the only junior golf program currently being offered in the Far West and one of the few across Eyre Peninsula.
