Community members are invited to attend a free session on snake awareness in Ceduna on Monday.
The session will be hosted at the Ceduna Memorial Hall between 6pm and 9pm and will give attendees the latest safety information from snake experts.
People will learn exactly what to do if you or somebody else gets bitten.
Those attending the session are asked to come dressed in boots and long pants as there will also be the opportunity to hold a python.
Head of Toxinology at the Adelaide Women's and Children's Hospital Professor Julian White said research suggested just one in five Australians were familiar with emergency treatment for venomous bites and stings, while people aged 25 and under showed the least amount of knowledge in treating bites and stings.
People can register for the session by calling the Ceduna District Council on 8625 3407.
