Rising Far West football and netball stars named

The season's best juniors were named as the Far West Football League and Far West Netball Association hosted their junior presentation night at Thevenard on Saturday.

Taking out the under 17s football best and fairest award was Koonibba's Tyson Edwards with 36 votes, finishing ahead of Ty Mullan of Thevenard on 28 votes.

Fellow Magpie Cain Perry completed the podium with 22 votes, as Jett Shipard of Western United took fourth on 20 votes and Mekiah Scott of Koonibba finished fifth with 15 votes.

The under 14s award went to Kade Maddigan of the Blues with a huge 62 votes.

The runner-up with 46 votes was Koonibba player Darryl Coleman, while Jay Polkinghorne of Western United took third with 33 votes.

Caolle McMahon and Brody Skinner - both of the Blues - completed the top five with 28 and 21 votes respectively.

There were joint winners of the Junior A netball best and fairest award, with Western United's Java Shipard and Daisy Lane of Thevenard finishing clear of Koonibba player Aliera Sansbury-Smith.

The Junior B prize was taken out by Mia Shipard of Western United ahead of Koonibba duo Lynacia Dudley and Tesha Kugena.

Securing the Junior C award was Shaquana Cooke of Thevenard, with Western United's Cedar Shipard the runner-up.
