Recent rain softened the course as players competed in the quarter-finals of the Ceduna Golf Club Championship on Sunday.
A light southerly added to the challenge on the day as the semi-finalists were determined.
In the A grade, Graeme Smart defeated Ian McKenzie nine up with eight to go, Peter Thompson beat Dion Hissey 8/7, Clinton Wearne downed Barry Thompson 4/3 and Jamie Davies defeated Gavin Haines 2/1.
Andrew Xanthopoulos had a B grade bye, while Kieron Warmington beat Ken McCarthy 3/2, Lance McWaters defeated Andrew Partington 5/3 and Mick Stewart downed John Hill 8/7.
In the C grade, Andrew Parkyn, Shane Stoeker and Brian Will had a bye, as Jimmy Nicholls defeated Zell Dodd 2/1.
Others took part in a par competition with Will the winner on +2, ahead of Ben Gascoyne on even, Stoeker -3, Matthew Degner -5 and Parkyn -7.
Nearest to the pin on the fourth hole was Davies and then McWaters on the 17th, with Davies taking the longest drive on the 18th.
The semi-finals will be played on September 8.
This weekend is a par competition, with some players competing in the Port Kenny Open.
