Homelessness Week events hosted by Centacare Ceduna last week helped to raise awareness about the facts surrounding the plight of homelessness.
Centacare hosted a baked potato stand at its office last Tuesday and a sausage sizzle at the Ceduna Memorial Hall on Thursday, with information boards spelling out the situation surrounding homelessness in Australia.
Centacare's Tiana Mullan said the events were worthwhile.
"We had a lot of people come through for the two events," she said.
"Hopefully they got out of it awareness and education around homelessness in Australia, and awareness that it does happen in our region too.
"Thanks go to Ceduna Foodland, Thevenard IGA and Ceduna Meat Service for their donation of food for the events."
A raffle was also organised as part of the week and 120 tickets were purchased, with Allan Lowe winning the major prize.
The raffle helped to raise a total of $305.55 which will be donated to Homelessness Australia.
Homelessness Week ran from August 4 to 10 and the theme this year was 'Housing ends homelessness'.
