Regional Express (Rex) and the Ceduna District Council have agreed to renew their current partnership agreement, confirming the introduction of the Rex Community Fare Scheme.
The airline and council have renewed their partnership until June 30, 2024 and as part of that the price for all flights between Ceduna and Adelaide now starts at $149.
The community fare is available more than 30 days prior to departure - subject to availability - as well as for all remaining unsold seats within 24 hours of departure.
Rex's general manager of network strategy and sales Warrick Lodge said Ceduna was the 16th regional community to implement the scheme.
"It is wonderful to see this community-focused scheme being implemented in Ceduna, which is a regional community that Rex has had a long and established partnership with," he said.
"Rex and its predecessor Kendell Airlines have serviced the Ceduna community for 33 years, and the introduction of the community fare between Ceduna and Adelaide rewards the long-term approach that has been adopted by Rex and the District Council of Ceduna over many years".
Ceduna mayor Perry Will praised the inclusion of the scheme to the partnership agreement.
"The new partnership agreement is a testament to both Rex and the council's pragmatic approach to ensuring our community continues to have a regular passenger air service between Ceduna and Adelaide," he said.
"The inclusion of the Rex Community Fare scheme as a part of that agreement also demonstrates Rex's commitment to providing an affordable cost to the community."
