The Streaky Bay Meals on Wheels branch hosted its annual badge presentation on Thursday.
A number of volunteers received badges and enjoyed the coffee and cake morning tea on offer.
Josie Williams received a badge for 40 years of service to the Streaky Bay branch, while Zita Chester received her 15-year badge.
Meanwhile, Robyn Swanson, Kaelene Amey, Glenette and Louise Mudge, and Gay and Leigh McCarten all received badges for five years of service to the branch.
Others who were unable to attend the badge presentation were Amanda Kelsh and Graham Lee, who have been delivering meals for the past 10 years, as well as Belinda Black, Rebecca Smith and Mike Swanson, who have delivered for five years.
As has been the normal practice for a few years, those who were due to receive badges for delivering meals in Streaky Bay were invited to attend a morning tea at a local venue and branch committee members would like to extend a special thanks to Bayfunktion Cafe for hosting the badge presentation this year.
At present there are a few vacant spots in the delivering roster.
The branch committee has been able to organise the roster on a six-week rotation basis for a number of years and are hoping people with a spare one to two hours can join so that rotation can continue.
Anybody interested in delivering meals for the Streaky Bay Meals on Wheels branch is asked to contact branch secretary and treasurer Jan Patterson on 0427 277 025 or Jan Farrow at the Streaky Bay Hospital on 8626 1009 for further information.
