The 2020 Ceduna Relay for Life is less than 12 months away and the Ceduna Relay Organisation Group is calling for people to come on board to help put the event together and to sign up to take part.
Next year will mark 20 years of the Relay for Life in South Australia and will be the eighth for Ceduna.
The last event in 2018 raised more than $31,000 and the group is aiming to raise even more in 2020.
Group chairperson Rhian Ashton said they hoped to get more teams involved this year.
"The more teams there are the more fundraising, the more fundraising the more money we can raise," she said.
Mrs Ashton said they were looking at the 2020 Relay for Life taking place on either the last weekend in March or first weekend in May.
She said with the right date the event could be opened up to participants from Streaky Bay, Wirrulla and Wudinna.
Money raised from Relay for Life events held across the state goes towards Cancer Council SA.
As well as relay participants the Group is looking for people to help put the event together behind the scenes.
Roles to be filled includes a media and promotions officer to promote the event online and in the media, entertainment coordinator to organise the event's entertainment and a secretary.
Mrs Ashton said there were half a dozen people on board but more were needed to ensure the event can be successful.
She said other roles can include organising a kick-off event, such as the colour run last year or other behind the scenes roles which included organising raffle prizes and selling tickets.
Anyone wanting to be involved is invited to come to the group's next meeting at 6pm on June 19 at the Ceduna Hospital boardroom and for more information contact Mrs Ashton on 0427 624 534.
