This week we are going back 23-years to look at the May 23, 1996 edition of the West Coast Sentinel.

Who can you recognise from the faces that made the news in 1996?

The big news stories from this edition included Oysterfest searching for volunteers to fill key positions, including president and secretary.

The Streaky Bay Bowling Club enjoyed a record crowd at its annual auction, an estimated 800 people attended the event.

In sport Far West hosted Great Flinders in interassociation football matches at Thevenard, with the A grade team fallinbg short by 14 points.
