South Australian Grand Slam winner John Fitzgerald will be in town as the Wudinna Tennis Club hosts a community event next month.
Tennis Australia is celebrating the community and supporting drought relief through tennis with a free family fun day at Wudinna on Wednesday, May 8.
The day begins at 11.30am with a school carnival, and from 3.30pm to 4.30pm there will be activities on the Wudinna Tennis Club court.
ANZ Tennis Hot Shots equipment and activities for young participants to enjoy, plus a range of fun tennis games and competitions.
A free barbecue will be supplied.
Wudinna Junior Tennis Club coach Eugene Wauchope said all people from the Wudinna region and beyond are invited to come along and enjoy the day.
"John Fitzgerald will be there along with five or six Tennis Australia personnel, it will be a day of fun to learn the skills of tennis," he said.
"It is also important to help the community out in a tough time, to get people involved and having a good time, and we want the whole region involved.
"It is a chance to play tennis, have a barbecue and have some fun together."
Mr Wauchope said Mr Fitzgerald, a seven-time Grand Slam doubles champion who was born in Cummins, would be a great attraction for the event.
