Caravan park hosts enjoyable evening

The Ceduna Branch of the Country Women's Association hosted its biggest ever barbecue tea at the Ceduna Foreshore Caravan park this month.

Park hosts Marty and Jodie Andrews had the camp kitchen ready for the ladies and they ended up preparing dinner for 75 adults and three children who were present.

The barbecue raised $1200.

Served for dinner were sausages, patties, chicken wings, onions with homemade salads, potatoes, coleslaw, tomato, cucumber and onion, banana curry, curly salad and beetroot, while sweets were apple rhubarb crumble, bread and butter pudding, cheesecake, fruit salad and ice cream.

Laurie Ross was the cause of lots of laughs with his fun auction, while Cheryl Ross entertained everybody with her bagpipes, which were well played.

'Captain Vermeeren' sang a Slim Dusty song, 'You Make us Proud', then he sang 'Amazing Grace' for the workers Shirley and Mick Mahar, Jon and Marls Shipard, Di Thompson, Claire Collins, Cheryl and Laurie Ross, and Kath Dunn.

It was another great barbecue, which was supported by visitors from the Ceduna Foreshore Caravan Park, Shelly Beach Caravan Park and Big 4 Caravan Park.

The branch said it would like to extend a very special thanks to Marty and Jodie Andrews for their extra effort in making sure the CWA ladies were well supported, as well as thank all the people who supported the evening.

They also said they were grateful for the support received from Ceduna Camping and Fishing and the Ceduna Foreshore Hotel Motel.

The ladies are looking forward to being back in 2020.
