Excitement is building for the 2019 XXXX Gold & Streaky Bay Community Hotel Cup which will be held on Saturday, March 30 at the Streaky Bay Racecourse.

For more than a century the main event on the Streaky Bay calendar has attracted locals and friends from around the country and this year will be no different.

Sponsorship and marketing coordinator Sam Kirby says "Word of mouth is spreading on what a fantastic day we offer racegoers."

"It's a race day for everyone whether it's families, the fellas or the ladies."

"The Streaky Bay Cup encompasses the spirit of country racing, bringing the community together in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere with everything they need to have a great day at the races."

The 2019 cup carnival will kick off again on Friday night at the Streaky Bay Hotel with the Cup Calcutta where a special guest will be speaking.

Dinner bookings are essential and can be booked with the hotel by calling 8626 1008.

On Saturday the race day program offers six races and punters will be able to access on-course bookmakers, a mobile TAB outlet by UBET and the Punters Club run by Philip McEvoy.

For the fashion enthusiast the Fashion at the Races competition will be a real drawcard and each year the standard of entrants gets higher and higher.

The club expects to see this again in 2019.
