Ready to race at Penong

The Penong Race Club will be hosting the annual Penong Cup meeting on Saturday, March 9.

A five-race program will headline the day's entertainment, with the first race at 1.15pm and the feature race - the $12,000 Far West Farmers Penong Cup - held at 3.10pm.

The fashions of the field will also take place, with prizes for the best dressed in the categories of women, men, boys and girls.

A fully-stocked bar and plenty of food will be available throughout the day and night, in addition to Sky Racing, bookie Greg McEntee and a TAB facility.

A bus will be leaving the Ceduna Foreshore Hotel at 11.45am and returning after the last race.

You can book a seat on 0427 252 002, with the cost of $35 also including entry and a race book.

Once the racing is complete people can dance the night away to Streaky Bay Band, the Fluffers.

Free camping is available on Friday and Saturday night for those who have their caravan or swag.

The weekend commences at the Penong Hotel on Friday, March 8 with the Calcutta from 7pm - you could win some good money if your ticket is drawn.
