A full complement of 32 teams took part in the Elders Real Estate pairs' skins competition at Streaky Bay last week, with Ceduna duo Ross Borlase and Brenton Miller taking home the prize.
Teams from Port Lincoln, Cummins, Holdfast in Adelaide, Wudinna, Minnipa, Wirrulla, Ceduna and Streaky Bay faced off for the $2500 prize money.
After three qualifying round the teams were rated from one to 32 based on their results during the day.
Skins were played over five ends, with the top two playing for $120 per end.
Third and fourth played for $80 per end, right down to number 31 and 32 vying for $15 an end.
Damon Edmunds and Jayden Zeller of Club Holdfast played Miller and Borlase for the big money, with Miller and Borlase collecting the entire purse of $600.
Edmunds and Zeller joined a number of other teams who walked away with no prize money, but that is the nature of skins.
Sisters Sue Fisher and Gaye Oswald collected $240, while Gavin Sincock and Nanette Smith took home $160.
Following the presentations a fine fish tea was provided courtesy of generous sponsors Streaky Bay Marine Products.
It was an excellent day of bowls, with only one game which was very hot.
Special thanks go to Chad Kirby from Elders Real Estate, Darryl Johnson of Elders Rural, plus Dion and Renae Edmunds and Damon and Sophia Edmunds of Streaky Bay Marine Products.
