The Wudinna Ladies Bowling Club holds an annual twilight charity event to raise money for a worthy recipient and this year proved no exception.
As sunset came through after a very hot day, 27 attendees generously donated a sum of $766 raised on the night to the Wudinna Hospital Auxiliary, with more pledged.
The evening started with a free sausage sizzle and all present were then put into teams of three to play a game of six ends.
With a cold beverage in hand and much laughter, players progressed to the pristine green to amass the largest score.
A welcome breeze sprung up to make conditions bearable, so with everybody happy and having fun play was continued for a further two games.
Shots were tallied and the winner for the night was the team with the largest score at the conclusion of the matches.
The wining trio consisted of Sandy Alexander, Graeme ‘Blue’ McKenna and Veronica Matthews, who each received a bottle of wine for their efforts.
The raffle for the night was a selection of jewellery and the winning ticket holder was able to choose which piece they wanted – Ruth Raftery won this.
Peter Williams won the lucky door prize of a scented candle.
The food, wine prizes, lucky door prize and the raffle were kindly donated by club members.
Wudinna Hospital Auxiliary president Josie Williams and secretary Janet Foster presented prizes and sincerely thanked the generosity of all who attended.
They also thanked the club for hosting the twilight charity event.
