Perlubie got the New Year started with the annual Sports Day, hosted at Perlubie Beach.
More than 700 locals and visitors flocked to the beach for a day of sporting fun, taking part in an event which has a history of more than a century.
A number of events took place, including foot races of various distances, volleyball, high jump, sack race and the egg and spoon race.
Perlubie Sports Day committee president Neville Trezona said all involved had a great time on the sand.
“There was a great crowd and it was a really good day,” he said.
“It’s a great family day, with lots of children involved, and lots of tourists who come down for the day – there were people from all over the country who were there, from Sydney, Alice Springs and all over.
“People go to Streaky Bay for New Year’s Eve and then Perlubie the next day.”
