It is time to end the working week with a trip through the pages of yesteryear.
Relive some memories of this week’s flashback, the January 9, 1991 edition of the West Coast Sentinel.
Who can you spot in this edition of the newspaper?
The first edition of 1991 had a focus on what was taking place in the district over the Christmas and New Year break.
This included Ceduna’s Greek community celebrating Theophania (the Epiphany) at Thevenard, an event which involves young men diving for a cross thrown into the water – this year it was 17-year-old John Kathiniotis emerging with the cross.
There was a good crowd at Perlubie for the annual New Year’s Day sporting event, while the first baby born in 1991 in the region was at Ceduna, when Smoky Bay’s Terri-Anne Cummings gave birth to daughter Chelsea Lee.
