Centacare Ceduna will be hosting a family fun day at the Ceduna Memorial Hall early next month to raise awareness for Anti-Poverty Week.
Anti-Poverty Week was established in Australian in 2002 as an expansion of the United Nations’ annual International Anti-Poverty Day on October 17.
Each year more than four hundred activities are arranged by community groups across Australia for the day, involving many thousands of organisations and people.
The week is a time for leaders to join with communities and organisations all over Australia in focusing attention on reducing poverty and hardship.
Centacare will host the event on Wednesday, October 3 between 11am and 3pm.
The family fun day on the hall will highlight anti-poverty in the Ceduna region and is a free community event.
Other organisations will be in attendance in addition to Centacare with giveaways, while there will also be bouncy castles, games, a free sausage sizzle, and fruit and vegetables to hand out, plus more.
All are welcome to attend the free family event.
