Streaky Bay’s Damon Edmunds has helped the Heysen Comets reach the inaugural SA Super League bowls grand final.
Heysen Comets, the minor premiers, faced South Eastern Spartans in the semi final this past weekend, with the Comets opening with a 19-13 singles win.
The pairs match saw the Spartans hitting back to take a 25-13 result.
That meant the contest would be decided in the triples, with Edmunds joined by Ben Harris of Cleve and James Gregory.
The Comets started well to lead 11-2, however the Spartans recovered to close the gap.
Just two shots separated the teams going into the final end and although the Comets claimed an 18-16 win, it was not enough overall as the Spartans won 54-50.
That saw the Comets go into the preliminary final against the Central Chargers.
The Comets made three changes as they took out a 58-47 win to advance.
They will face the Spartans in the grand final this weekend.
