Far West’s best junior footballers and netballers were crowned on Saturday as the league’s hosted their presentation night.
There was little to separate the contenders for the under 17 football award as Robin Saunders was named best and fairest with 25 votes to edge out Thevenard teammate Lachlan Wilkins on 24.
Sam Mahar of Western United and Koonibba’s Jaziah Miller were locked in third on 23 votes.
Koonibba’s Jairone Miller came away with the under 14 footballer award with 51 votes, ahead of Western United player Cruz Polkinghorne in another close finish on 48.
Western United’s Abbie Thomas took out the Junior A netball best and fairest award ahead of Torah Stott of Thevenard, while it was all Westies in the Junior B as Jessica Trowbridge-Crisp was named best and fairest and Asha Ross the runner-up.
Zoe McGuinness of Thevenard was the Junior C winner ahead of Western United’s Zara Harding.
