Ceduna march on in finals series | PHOTOS

Ceduna advanced to the Far West netball preliminary final thanks to a 40-25 victory over Koonibba on Saturday.

The finals campaign began in gusty conditions at Penong which made it a defender’s day.

The first quarter was tightly contested as Koonibba ended the term ahead by a goal, however Ceduna played possession netball to steady and go into the long break with the lead.

Both teams made changes at half-time with the match still evenly poised.

Speed is usually Koonibba’s best asset, however they were hampered by the conditions which did not allow for this style of play.

Ceduna’s pressure across the court created turnovers which they capitalised on to come away with a 15-goal triumph and end Koonibba’s campaign.

This weekend sees the second semi-final between Western United and Thevenard, with the winner advancing to the grand final and the loser facing Ceduna.

Ceduna 2 secured a B grade thriller in the derby with Ceduna 1.

Ceduna 2 won by three goals as the match ended 33-30 to go on to face either Western United or Thevenard.

The all-Ceduna match in the C grade went the way of Ceduna 2 as they defeated Ceduna 1 26-19.

They will face Western United or Thevenard after the seven-goal win.

Western United 1 got the better of Ceduna 1 in the D grade by 15 goals.

The Tigers claimed a 36-21 success to go on to face Western United 2 or Thevenard in the preliminary final.

Koonibba advanced in the Junior A thanks to their 39-25 victory over Ceduna, while Ceduna defeated the Roosters in Junior B action.

The Junior C match between Western United and Ceduna went the way of the Tigers.
