Wirrulla are edging closer to a perfect Mid West netball season after downing Wudinna by 13 goals in the latest round of action.
Saturday’s 53-40 win saw the Bombers secure a 12th win in as many matches this season to enjoy a commanding lead of seven points at the top of the table.
Giving chase in second position is West Coast, who eased past Elliston 57-38.
The 19-goal win has the Hawks entrenched in second – despite a points deduction – while the Roosters remain in a battle to reach the finals.
Elliston’s loss allowed Central Eyre to push clear in third position following a win by nine goals against Western Districts.
The Bulldogs got the better of the Tigers in a close match as it ended 49-40.
The win means Central Eyre have all but secured a finals place with three matches remaining, with Western Districts a point behind fourth-placed Elliston.
West Coast opened a four-point gap at the top of the B grade table with a 42-25 success against third-placed Elliston.
The win, coupled with Western Districts defeating Central Eyre 64-57, has given the Hawks breathing space in first and keeps the Tigers’ finals hopes alive.
The other match saw Wudinna push two points clear of Wirrulla after a thrilling 41-39 victory.
There were C grade wins for the top three as leaders West Coast, Wudinna and Central Eyre all picked up the points.
