Flashback: June 17, 2004

Today we are going back nearly 14 years to 2004 for the latest West Coast Sentinel flashback.

News in this edition included announcements of Queen’s Birthday honours, which included a Member of the Order of Australia honour to Lock’s Marie Lally.

Also reported in this edition Aboriginal leaders from across the state gathered in Port Lincoln to discuss what they should do after the Labor and Liberal governments moved to abolish ATSIC and the Ceduna and Districts Service Club donated $5000 towards the Ceduna Community Safe Swimming Enclosure.

In sport the Mortlock Shield took place in Port Lincoln, Far West lost to Lincoln City by 68 points before a narrow loss to Eastern Eyre by 3 points.

Mid West did not have it any easier, first losing to Lincoln Districts by 9 points before losing to Lincoln City by 40 points.
