It was a milestone game at Poochera on Saturday as Western Districts celebrated Trent Brace playing his 300th game.

The Tigers went up against top of the table West Coast Hawks in what was always going to be a tough day out.

The Hawks kicked six goals to one in the first quarter and went on to lead at every break.

Districts continued to be competitive with their best quarters being in the second and fourth where they kicked three goals.

The Hawks proved too strong and ran away 65-point winners, with Aiden Whitford, Joseph McInnis and Braden Holmes top scoring with three goals apiece.

Andrew Miller was the Tigers’ top goalkicker with three of his own.

Despite the loss there was still cause for celebration and Brace, who has played all 300 games with Western Districts, said the boys played really well and the scoreboard did not reflect the effort they put in.

He said he was humbled with the way the club, and the league acknowledged his milestone.

“It’s been a privilege to play for the same club for 300 games and to be able to play with a lot of different people,” he said.

In other results Wirrulla scored a big win at home, defeating second place Elliston by 56 points.

Following a close first half the Bombers would keep the Roosters to scoring one behind the second half while they put through six goals, Simon Webb led the way with five majors.

At Wudinna Central Eyre were made to earn their third win of the year against Wudinna United.

After a good five goal first quarter the Bulldogs were kept to one major in the second as the Magpies pegged the lead down to four points at half time.

Central Eyre regained composure in the second half, kicking eight goals to two to run out 38-point winners.
