Flashback: May 2, 2013 | PHOTOS

This week’s West Coast Sentinel archive takes us back only a short distance, to May 2, 2013.

What a week for sport it was on the West Coast.

Streaky Bay was paid a visit by surfing icon Kelly Slater as he took to the water at some of the region’s most famous beaches.

Meanwhile, Wirrulla could count on the services of Carlton legend and premiership player Anthony Koutoufides, who donned the Bombers guernsey as they took to the field in the Anzac Day round match against Western Districts.

‘Kouta’ played the full match and showed the skills which wowed audiences on the national stage for years.

The best on ground were awarded medals for the Anzac round, while the day itself was met with services across the West Coast.
