Streaky Bay’s lady golfers have teed off on another season of golf with a 12-hole Ambrose competition.
The new season for the Streaky Bay Golf Club ladies got underway with the opening day on Wednesday, April 4 as president Kerry Johnson welcomed everybody to the start of the 2018 campaign.
Acting captain Sandie Skinner then explained the day’s play.
Club life member Rae Brewster officially opened the new season and fellow club life member Di George had the honour of hitting the first ball for 2018.
The 12-hole Ambrose competition had 12 players competing in four groups of three.
Getting their season off to a winning start was the trio of Ingrid Stewart, Karen Georgiou and Helen Flanigan, while the runners-up were Patsy Jenkins, Glenys Chapman and Wendy Pearson.
The scores for the day were very even, with two groups on 50, one on 51 and one group on 56.
The handicaps made the difference and the winning trio decided from that.
After players had made their final putt came the presentations and afternoon tea to close the opening day.
