Much more than what’s on the track at Kimba Cup


Ladies and gentleman across the Eyre Peninsula will no doubt be rummaging through their wardrobes and flocking to the shops to find that perfect outfit for the upcoming DK Quarries $25,000 Kimba Cup

While there will be plenty of high stakes action happening on the track, Fashion At The Races will once again take center stage for a portion of the day.

Always a huge attraction, this year there are plenty of great prizes to be won, as well as the chance of entering the state finals.

Best dressed at the Kimba Cup will take home more than $500 in cash and a $200 The Daily Edited Voucher, while the runner-up will nab a $200 Media Makeup Voucher. 

There are also $200 vouchers on offer for best millinery and best dressed menswear categories.

The winner of the state final is in line to grab a $5,000 Shopping Spree at BNKR and a choice of four tickets to an event at the Adelaide Fashion Festival, or four tickets to an event at Tasting Australia

There are $1000 prize packs and vouchers for all other categories, as well as a $2,000 shopping spree for the best dressed man.

The Kimba Cup will be held at Ravendale Park, Port Lincoln on Sunday, March 25.

General admission tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for concession and children under 16 can enter free. Gates open at 11am.

Race Day Information

The Kimba Cup, which is run over 1950 metres, should attract a top field of runners with the Port Lincoln, Penong and Streaky Bay Cups run in the lead up to race day.

The eight-event card will also run the Elders flying over 1210 metres with a prize of $12,500.

All other races on the day have a prize of $12,000 except for the maiden race, which has a prize of $10,000.

Nominators of horses travelling more than 100 kilometres to Port Lincoln for the cup will receive a $100 travel refund.

Live music will accompany patrons in the main marquee area which has again stayed at $135 per person this year, which includes a sumptuous food package along with extensive wines, beer and soft drink available.

Face painters, jumping castle, ice cream will be available to entertain the youngsters and of course, for the on course general admission patrons there will be plenty of bookmakers, bars and food stalls.
