Some exciting news for Streaky Bay with the council’s community and economic development manager working closely with representatives of Services SA of late, which has led to a possible and positive outcome.
The Streaky Bay District Council will be presented with a business proposal at its March ordinary meeting, which could see the visitor information centre incorporate a Service SA agency arrangement.
This will be a great outcome for us all and provide some very much needed options for the district.
Streaky Bay medical clinic update
A practice manager and a practice nurse have been engaged on a six-month basis pending the development of the incorporated association.
Locum doctors are being sourced through a number of locum agencies and these have been secured until mid-June 2018.
The council is working with the Rural Doctors Workforce Agency and some private advertising agencies to source a full time resident doctor or doctors.
A detailed report was presented to the Streaky Bay District Council at a special meeting in late February and this report is available to view on the council’s website www.streakybay.com.au.
The next meeting will be held at the visitor information centre at 7pm on Wednesday, March 21 for all registered parties as well as for those who are also interested in joining the Streaky Bay Medical Clinic Incorporated Association.
Streaky Bay Cup
Lastly do not forget one of Streaky Bay's biggest events on its calendar, the Streaky Bay Races which are being held this Saturday, March 17, with people coming from all over the region, state and country.
I am assured this year’s event will be just as big ever, with many food stalls and entertainment available.
So get out your fascinators, dust off your best racing attire and see you there.
