The Wudinna Bowls Club staged yet another successful edition of its annual charity event earlier this week which raised $860 for the Wudinna Hospital Auxiliary group.
Tuesday’s charity event started with a free sausage sizzle from 5:30pm, with the bowls action commencing 30 minutes later.
Mingling with the ‘true blue bowlers’ were members of the Wudinna Hospital Auxiliary and those from Mid West Health Care and their families who had come to play in the twilight bowls competition.
Teams of three or four bowlers were organised to play and given the skill level – and in some cases, the lack of – there was much fun and amusement to be had during the matches.
Wudinna Hospital Auxiliary officials Josie Williams and Lisa Skipworth presented prizes to the winning bowls team.
The winning team consisted of Ashley Joyce, Tony Heron and Ruth Denton, while the runners-up were Henk van de Vorstenbosch, Jayden Fridd, Jean Spence and Rita van de Graaf.
A lucky draw prize was won by Graeme Garnaut.
