SKEET: Sue Koch presents the Skeet Handicap Club Championship to Jack McInnis.

Jack McInnis has emerged the winner in the Far West Gun Club’s 50T Skeet Handicap Club Championship held on September 10 at its shooting range near Ceduna.

With a warm northerly for the first shoot of spring, it was like hide and seek with the targets disappearing amongst the low-lying clouds.

Skeet is shot over a standardized eight pad system between a High and Low trap house. The layout is semicircular and shot in brackets of 25 targets.

The challenge is the constantly changing angles, with neither left or right-handed shooters having the advantage at the end of the round.

Jack McInnis won the 50T Skeet Handicap Club Championship after a shoot off with Matthew Wilson with a winning score of 47/54.

The 25T Double Barrel was the second shoot for the day with Jack McInnis and Matthew Wilson; with McInnis winning after a 25T shoot off.

To finish the afternoon a Down the Line Handicap Teams event was held.

Team two comprising of Matthew Wilson, Gary Ferguson, Stephen Brice and Allan Swearse had a winning score of 89/100.

Team one comprising of Jack McInnis, Samantha Johnson, Sue Koch and Sean Sleep came a respectable second with 83/100.

Last month the club held its 50T Ball Trap Club Championship, won by Matthew Wilson.

The next come and try will be held on Sunday, October from 11am to 12.30pm.
