The Ceduna Red Cross branch hosted its annual general meeting late last month, with plans in action for the year ahead.

The meeting was attended by 13 members as well as by the area coordinator Brenton Niemz and office staff member Carmen Fricker.

Branch office bearers for 2017-18 were announced, with Dulcie Wright retained as the president, Jean Cooper named vice president, Bobbie Bennett the branch’s secretary, Carol Suter the assistant secretary and Claire Collins named as the treasurer.

The new South Australian baby competition entrant for the Ceduna branch is Isobel Louise Wright, who is the daughter of Jess and Leon.

Fundraising throughout the year proved successful with activities such as a soup kitchen, coin drive and money board undertaken, the winners of which were Glenys Skinner, Fred Akkerman and Joyce Chandler.

Plans are in hand for the Red Cross annual ‘Food for Funds’ lunch on Thursday, August 24.

The Ceduna Red Cross branch will be hosting the Red Cross regional conference at the Ngura Yadurirn Child and Family Centre next Monday from 9.30am to 11.30am.

Morning tea provided at the conference by branch members.

Visiting representatives from Red Cross headquarters will be present and all community members are welcome to attend the conference.
