Western United recovered from last week’s defeat to beat Thevenard in A grade Far West netball.
They claimed a 49-32 success to make it three wins from the opening four matches.
The intensity of the match was evident from the first whistle and it was goal-for-goal in the first quarter.
Westies continued to pile on the pressure throughout the match and led for the rest of the contest.
Ceduna added to their unbeaten start to the campaign with a comfortable 61-20 win against Koonibba.
Western United downed Thevenard 56-47 in B grade action.
Westies got off to a quick start, however Thevenard managed to pull goals back.
Quick passing from Thevenard made the game exciting to watch but Western United’s Bron Workman was too strong and ensured a nine-goal win for her side.
Western United also won in C grade, running out 63-42 winners against Thevenard White.
Strong defensive work in the first quarter from both teams was met with equally strong shooting to be even at the first break.
Westies started the second quarter much stronger, despite impressive centre court coverage from Thevenard’s Jo Hillas.
The Tigers pulled away convincingly in the third as Thevenard battled hard. This continued in the fourth quarter but Westies proved too strong.
Ceduna 1 defeated Ceduna 2 61-33 and in D grade, Thevenard got the better of Western United by 49-40.
Westies led at half-time but Thevenard then moved clear and the lead proved decisive.
