An enthusiastic crowd gathered at the Streaky Bay Bowling Club for its recent and well-supported Hospital Elmhaven Day.

The event saw a gathering of 27 mixed men and women bowlers participate in a fours competition at the club in perfect weather conditions.

The teams completed the first 10 ends of entertaining bowling before lunch.

The first portion of the contest was followed by a sausage sizzle lunch which took advantage of the picture-perfect blue skies and was enjoyable.

The lunch helped raise additional funds for the day.

The competition resumed after the interval.

A tight competition was contested by all players as they completed a further two games of 10 ends.

Captains John Rumbelow and Mike Swanson and their respective teams shared the number one position closely throughout the afternoon.

The two teams were followed just two shots behind by the foursome captained by Graham Kenny.

President Josie Williams then presented a cheque for $400 to representatives Maggie Haynes and Erica McInnes, who are residents of Elmhaven.

Afternoon tea and beverages was enjoyed by all as a memorable day drew to a close.
