TOURISTS taking their vehicles onto Far West Coast beaches are warned to be aware of their surroundings after two people were left stranded when their car was stuck at Scotts Beach near Fowlers Bay.

Well known model Brinkley Davies and her boyfriend Tyron Swan were driving along the beach two weeks ago when their Toyota Troop Carrier became stuck in the sand during low tide.

Unable to free the vehicle the two were forced to remove their belongings as the waves claimed the car.

A local contractor recovered the vehicle on September 9 but it was damaged beyond repair.

Senior ranger Robert Sleep said people should be aware of where they were driving, if possible stick to existing tyre tracks and if their vehicle got stuck they would be liable for its removal.

The vehicle’s stranding was captured on video and can be viewed on Miss Davies’ Youtube channel.
