YOUNG dancers from across Ceduna and the district are ready to show off their dancing skills at the annual DanCeduna concert on Friday night, with an Olympic theme this year.
The Ceduna Memorial Hall will once again host the annual dance showcase which will feature about 90 children from across the district.
The group began lessons and rehearsals in May and in the past few months has worked hard to be show ready for this year’s concert.
Each year the concert has a theme for each dance number and with the Rio Olympics recently concluded this year’s theme will be the Olympic Games.
Organiser Cindy Ettridge said everyone involved was pleased with how the show had come together.
Late last year the group was able to work with the Australian Dance Theatre, which ran a series of workshops for the children, as well as skilling instructors in different dance techniques and choreography.
This has helped to further develop a sequential teaching syllabus, which the instructors have been using as a base for their weekly dance classes.
DanCeduna has also become a regular feature at Oysterfest and will be performing after the street parade at the Oysterfest site.
Organisers have invited everyone in the community to attend this year’s concert showcase. Doors open at 6.45pm with the concert to begin at 7pm.
Adult entry is $5.
