Smoky Bay shooting not random: Police

A domestic dispute is believed to be behind a shooting at Smoky Bay which has left a man in hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg.

Reports of a shooting led police and paramedics to the remote property about 12.30am.

"Upon arrival at the house [we] found a man inside the house with a gunshot wound to the leg," said a police spokesman.

"The 38-year-old man was conveyed to the Ceduna Hospital, before being transferred to the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a non-life threatening condition."

A 38-year-old woman at the same address was arrested and charged with aggravated cause serious harm.

She has been bailed to appear in Ceduna Magistrates Court on 17 December.

"Police will allege the shooting occurred during a domestic dispute and is not a random incident," the spokesman said.
