CEDUNA beauty Katarina Keeler has been named the face of the 2014 Adelaide Fashion Festival at the Tandanya National Aboriginal Cultural Institute in Adelaide.
The 20-year-old nursing student was born and bred in Ceduna and said even though she lived in Adelaide, she always came home for holidays to re-connect with her home town.
Becoming the first indigenous face and ambassador for the Adelaide Fashion Festival is Ms Keeler's biggest achievement so far in her modelling career.
"It's amazing, it's my first big gig in my career and my family are so proud," Ms Keeler said.
"I am so proud of my culture, and I am going to try and help other indigenous girls get to where I am, and maybe one day become the second indigenous face of the festival."
Since being signed with Finesse Models Australia, Ms Keeler has walked many fashion shows and she hopes her new role with the Adelaide Fashion Festival will open her modelling career up on an international level.
"The festival opportunity is incredible and it will really help get my face out there," Ms Keeler said.
The Adelaide Fashion Festival will run from October 17 to 26.
