A small field of a dozen players assembled to compete in the penultimate competition for the year at the Streaky Bay Golf Club.
A three team Ambrose competition was held in increasingly difficult conditions as the aggressive change swept through the district on Sunday afternoon.
At the end of the event, the winning team of the day was Andy MacLeod, Jeff Williams and Mark Flaherty with a nett 61 2/3.
They handled the significant weather changes that impacted on everyone’s game in a superior manner in a close fought competition.
There were only three shots separating first and fourth (last) place between the four teams.
Novelties of the day: Nearest the pin six and 15: Harry Verstappen. Nearest the pin two and 11: Chris Roberts. Best birdie: Andrew Atkinson, Harry Verstappen, Chris Roberts.
Next week is the final competition for the winter season when the Captain’s Team and the President’s Team slog it out for final bragging rights.
A barbecue tea will conclude the night, please bring a salad.
The Streaky Bay Golf Club AGM will be held on Monday, October 19 at 7.30pm at the golf club, all members are welcome to attend.
From Friday, October 23, nine-hole social golf will commence with all female and male players welcome to attend for a friendly, casual nine-hole competition.
