It was the first time in 10 years that Blues had won an A grade Grand Final, the last being against Western United in 1999.
Led by captain John Dunn the Blues jumped Koonibba in the first quarter and powered further ahead as the game progressed to a 79-point win.
The Blues’ B grade team had a tougher match, winning by 24 points.
Wayne Miller for Blues A grade won the Best On Ground medal and his uncle, Brett, won the Best On Ground in the Blues B grade Grand Final.
A player in each Grand Final was reported by umpires and the FWFL will deal with the reports later.
Club stalwart Kym Marks described the celebrations at the club on Saturday night as “big” and they continued Sunday with a trip to Penong to paint a windmill in blue.
“It looks much better now,” Marks said.
Western United, the FWFL powerhouse for the past six years, claimed the Under 16 Colts premiership with a win over Thevenard.
