Lawrence is junior best and fairest

Lawrence Benbolt, 16, scored points from the umpires in each of the 12 home-and-away rounds for Koonibba Football Club’s Colts.

He finished Saturday night’s medal count with 27 points – six three-points, three two-points and three one-point games – to claim the Far West Football League’s Under 16 Best and Fairest medal.

Thevenard player Nathaniel Williams was runner-up with 20 points.

Thevenard Colts scored a total of 109 points for the year, Western United Colts 77 points with Braden Wild and Marcus Rohl on 19 points each as the Westies’ best, Koonibba 59 points and Blues 31 votes with Chris Knudsen their best on 12.

The Far West Netball Associations’ junior Best and Fairest awards went to Thevenard player Marni Trowbridge in Junior A and Ceduna Blues’ Tekura Irvine in Junior B.

Runners-up were Thevenard’s Courtney Meier in Junior A and Koonibba’s Sonarea Bilney in Junior B.
