The final race day of the current Ceduna racing season will be the Thevenard Traders Races, to be held Saturday, March 13 at Ceduna Racetrack.
The Ceduna Racing Club is very happy with the racing season so far, and is looking to finish off the season on a high.
Ceduna Racing Club vice president Andrew Wilkins said the club’s final race day fashion theme has been changed to “Vintage Fashions”, with the whole day to have an overall vintage theme.
Even the local vintage car club are putting on a display during the day.
“We approached the Vintage Car Club to put on a display for the races, and then it became a natural fit to give the whole day a vintage theme, including vintage fashion parades for girls and the guys, and even the kids,” he said.
The feature race for the day will be the Viterra Thevenard Cup over 1600 metres, which will be the fourth leg of the Bill Holland Series.
Race day marquees have proven a very popular way to enjoy the races, and bookings can be made through Samantha Wilkins at Emjay Shoes on 8625 2180.
Australian racing icon John Letts has also proven very popular this season, and he will once again entertain everyone as the race day emcee.
The club is determined to keep coming up with something different for each race day, and the other feature race will be the Vintage Wool Bale Race.
The club understands the bouncy castle and “bucking bull” will be returning for the race day. After the races, patrons can enjoy a schnitzel and fish tea, followed by a relaxing evening at the track listening to Streaky Bay acoustic duo, ‘Julie and Vinnie’.
