During the evening of Tuesday, December 8 two males were arrested by Ceduna patrols in separate incidents for drink driving offences.
In the first incident at about 7.45pm a 25-year-old male from Oak Valley was stopped driving a vehicle on Goode Road, Ceduna after he was recognised by a passing police patrol. Police spoke to the male and it will be alleged he was driving the motor vehicle whilst under the influence of intoxicating liquor.
The male later submitted to a breath analysis test and will it be alleged his breath alcohol reading was 0.220 per cent, which is more than three times the legal limit for a fully licensed driver.
It will be further alleged the male was breaching a police bail agreement by being in the township of Ceduna, he allegedly drove a motor vehicle whilst exceeding the prescribed concentration of alcohol and was allegedly driving whilst disqualified.
In a separate incident at about 9.50pm a Ceduna Police patrol stopped another vehicle on Goode Road, Ceduna and recognised the driver as not being permitted to drive a motor vehicle.
It will be alleged the 45-year-old driver from Amata was driving a motor vehicle whilst under the influence of intoxicating liquor. The driver submitted to a breath analysis test and will it be alleged his breath alcohol reading was 0.307 which is more than five times the legal limit for a fully licensed driver.
It will be further alleged the driver breached police bail agreement by occupying the driver’s seat of a motor vehicle, exceeded the prescribed concentration of alcohol and was driving whilst disqualified.
Both males had their vehicles impounded by police for seven days and their licences will be further disqualified for another 12 months. Both males were refused police bail and will appear before the Ceduna Magistrates Court at a later date.
